NBAA and the IOC event
The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) is the leading organisation for any business that uses general aviation aircraft. The association is based in Washington DC, USA, but serves the general aviation sector globally. The NBAA keeps its members informed about issues and developments in the industry and works with government bodies and other decision makers to represent interests.
As part of its industry representation, the NBAA organises several events to bring together experts and participants. After restrictions during COVID, these important events are now fully back on the calendar. The next major event is the International Operators Conference (IOC). This will be held from February 13th to 15th in Austin, Texas.
Comprehensive general aviation content
The IOC features three days of presentations, workshops, and industry networking. This covers numerous operational and regulatory areas, as well as real-life teaching and examples of emergency situation handling.
Focus topics include flight planning and logistics, weather, latest regulatory changes, customs issues, oceanic ATC, sustainability issues, and emergency response planning. There are also regional based briefings and discussions, where the main current challenges affecting planning and operations in each area are looked at.
