Expert Trip Support Services for the 2020 Tour de France

What is Tour De France?

The 2020 Tour de France has managed to draw a lot of attention, especially from its global audience, all thanks to the success of many British and Colombian riders in recent years.

In fact, grand cycling tours – of which the Tour de France is the very pinnacle – has attracted sponsors, teams, and riders from all over the world.

Now with all the hype and excitement buzzing around, it would be worthwhile to consider some expert trip support services that would further lighten up your visit.

The Tour de France will finish – as it always does – in Paris on Sunday, 19th July in 2020. The grand départ, or the first day of the tour, will take place in the southern city of Nice on Saturday 27th June.

Nice will serve as the home city for the first two days, with the rest of the itinerary being announced by the tour organizers later on.

The Aviation Services You Will Need

From what we have seen and noticed in the previous events, the map of Tour de France would definitely comprise of Pyrenees and Alps. The main concern for us is to figure out whether the route will head east or west from there onwards.

Either way, international flight support will be very useful, especially when aviation planning is required for some of the smaller airfields in those mountainous regions where aviation weather briefings can be essential.

In addition, the tour is extremely security conscious these days, so assistance flight risk assessments to places like Annecy – Haute-Savoie – Mont Blanc Airport (LFLP/NCY) in the Alpine region, for example, can be important as well. In this regard, it is fair to say that Flightworx can prove to be of great help!

Given that interest in the Tour de France will be on its peak in its opening weekend, anyone wanting to follow the entire event will need to consider their initial flight plans to the city carefully. Nice Côte d’Azur Airport (LFMN/NCE) has two runways over 8,400 feet and a pair of helipads.

Monaco Heliport (LNMC/MCM) is only a short drive away and air taxi services can be arranged between the two. Cannes – Mandelieu Airport (LFMD/CEQ), otherwise known as the Aéroport de Cannes, is only about 40 minutes from Nice by road.

Alternatively, Riviera Airport (LIMG/ALL), is only 90 minutes to the east. However, it only has a single asphalt runway, unlike Cannes – Mandelieu Airport which has two.
