New Zealand – Electronic Travel Authorisation

NEW ZEALAND ELECTRONIC TRAVEL AUTHORITY ( NZeTA) UPDATE

Immigration NZ have finally launched the official NZeTA website where travellers can make online applications for their Electronic Travel Authority and pay for this and the International Visitor Conservation and Tourism Levy ( IVL)

Who needs an NZeTA

Travellers are now required to hold an NZeTA if you are travelling on a passport from a Visa Waiver country or territory, or if you are a permanent Australian resident

How do I apply?

The application form can be found at:

immigration.govt.nz/nzeta

New Zealand Citizens and holders of valid New Zealand VISA’s can continue to enter New Zealand without an ETA.

Australia Citizens are also exempt but Australian permanent residents will need an ETA.

The requirement for travellers coming to New Zealand to hold an ETA becomes mandatory on 1 October 2019.

HOW MUCH DOES AN NZeTA and IVL COST?

  • NZ $ 12.00 for NZeTA via the  web site form
  • NZ $ 35.00 for the IVL for each person travelling to New Zealand.
  • Both charges are payable in the same transaction.

IMPORTANT NOTICE:

Immigration NZ and its website immigration.govt.nz/nzeta is the only official way to request an NZeTA.

Travellers should not request their NZeTA through any unauthorised third party.
